07.06.2019 – From Tuesday, June 4 this year, the paper editions of "Gazeta Wyborcza" are more modern, clear and reader-friendly. The new layout of the newspaper was created by Jacek Utko, a renowned designer and consultant working for media around the world. Additionally, the daily offers its readers new sections in the main issue, such as Highlight of the Day, and on Fridays - local weeklies combining existing magazines with the cultural guide "Co Jest Grane 24".

- Nowadays, in times demanding for traditional press, a new layout of high-volume newspaper is a unique project not only in Poland. The change of daily's design and structure is much more significant - it reflects also a new attitude towards creating its issues  and gives a clear, strong signal that we believe in a modern, paper edition of "Gazeta Wyborcza" complementing our attractive digital offer  - says the publisher of "Gazeta Wyborcza" Jerzy Wójcik. - The new "Wyborcza" will of course be evaluated by the readers themselves, but we are convinced that they will receive modern and classic newspaper at the same time, and above all - a well-designed and beautiful daily.

From June 4, "Gazeta Wyborcza" will be published in a new layout, introduced in the year of the 30th birthday of the daily and after several years from the previous change. The newspaper  gained a modern, neat and consistent design, its issues are clear and more readable. This was ensured by slightly enlarged, simpler font, larger spaces on individual pages and better-exposed photographs, e.g. on the second page of the issue. The authors of  comments, columns and opinions are presented with drawn portraits.

- "Gazeta Wyborcza" deserved a premium, modern graphic design, appropriate to the quality of its content. My idea was to change its layout into more consistent one, to make all sections and weeklies look like one family. Of course, new "Wyborcza" uses modern  graphic solutions, but its issues still have conservative feature distinctive for high-quality press - explains Jacek Utko, the designer of the new layout, whose previous projects have won the titile World's Best Designed Newspaper five times and three  times European Newspaper of the Year award.

In the new layout "Gazeta Wyborcza" is divided into two sections: the faster news part, covering the sections: Poland, World and Economy, with a special section Highlight of the  Day (topic chosen by the editors of the daily, discussed in the comments, quotes or opinions). The second part of the issue includes sections: Opinions, Culture, Science and Reportage, in which readers can find longer texts. New section - Guide, published  every day apart from Saturdays, offers practical information and advice on issues related to law, pension system, education or health. Graphic and structural changes were applied also in local editions of "Gazeta Wyborcza". Friday local magazines, published  in 20 Polish cities, are now combined with the cultural supplement "Co Jest Grane 24" (only in Warsaw it remains as separate issue).

In June this year, "Gazeta Wyborcza" and Wyborcza.pl launched also new image campaign with a line "Wyborcza for each generation". Ads, presented i.a. in TV, cinemas and the Internet, remind that "Gazeta Wyborcza" has been accompanying various generations and changes taking place in Poland for 30 years.

"Gazeta Wyborcza" is an invaluable source of information for its readers and an important platform for public debate. The daily also offers entertaining content and encourages readers to adopt active pastimes. It is well respected and awarded for its quality of journalism, innovative solutions and strong social commitment. For many years its authors have supported the most worthy national and local community, educational and cultural projects. "Gazeta Wyborcza" is also a leader in the process of digital transformation of press in Poland and was the first to introduce metered paywall and paid digital subscription. Currently the daily has over 170 thousand active subscribers and the number continues to grow.
